坎上 · 乾下Water over Heaven
卦辞The Judgement
需：有孚，光亨，贞吉，利涉大川。Xū. Be sincere and faithful. Brilliantly prosperous and smooth. Steadfast and upright brings good fortune. Favorable to cross great rivers.
时机还没成熟，但前方是好的。上坎为水，居北方，是雨、是险。乾金生坎水——天上的云气是金气蒸腾而成，但水还没落下来。这时最重要的是耐心等待——不是消极拖延，而是带着信心、保持状态地等。该吃就吃、该乐就乐，养精蓄锐。乱动反而会坏事。等到时机一到，自然渡过难关。
The timing isn't right yet, but what lies ahead is good. the upper trigram Kǎn is Water, in the north — the rain, the danger. Qián's Metal generates Kǎn's Water: the clouds overhead are steamed up from the metal's vapor, but the rain has not yet fallen. Patience is the key now — not passive stalling, but waiting with confidence, staying in good form. Eat well, enjoy yourself, conserve your energy. Acting now would spoil things. When the moment comes, you'll cross the difficulty cleanly.
大象The Image
《象》曰：云上于天，需；君子以饮食宴乐。Clouds rise above the sky: the image of Waiting. The noble one, accordingly, eats, drinks, and stays at ease while the time matures.
六爻The Six Lines
初九，需于郊，利用恒，无咎。Waiting in the outskirts. Favorable to remain constant. No fault.
保持距离、保持节奏，不要急着冲到风口浪尖。这时你需要的是耐心和定力，做好该做的日常，等条件成熟。早一步入局只会让自己暴露在风险中。
Keep your distance and keep your rhythm — don't push to the edge of the storm. Patience and steady ground are what you need now: do the daily work, wait for the conditions to mature. Stepping in too early only exposes you to risk.
九二，需于沙，小有言；终吉。Waiting on the sand. A little gossip. In the end, good fortune.
已经接近问题的边缘，可能听到一些闲话或质疑。不必反驳、不必焦虑——保持中立、心态稳定，最终事情会朝好的方向发展。
You're closer to the trouble now and may hear some grumbling or doubt. Don't argue, don't get anxious — stay neutral, keep your mind steady, and things will turn the right way in the end.
九三，需于泥，致寇至。Waiting in the mud. Inviting robbers.
已经离危险很近了，但你的处境是自己一步步走过来的——主要责任在自己。这时不能怨天尤人，需要以最高的警惕和自律来应对，否则会被卷入更深的困境。
You're now very near the danger — and the situation is one you walked yourself into, step by step. This isn't the time to blame circumstances; only the highest vigilance and self-discipline will keep you from being pulled in deeper.
六四，需于血，出自穴。Waiting in blood. Coming out of the pit.
已经身处险境（比如某个棘手局面、健康危机、关系破裂），六四阴爻，正式进入坎卦——水险临身，动辄受伤，但只要顺从局势、不抵抗、配合该做的处理，就能脱险。硬扛只会受更深的伤。
You're already in real danger — a crisis at work, in your health, in a relationship — the fourth line, yin, has formally entered Kǎn: the water's danger is upon you, and any move risks injury — — but if you yield to the situation, stop fighting it, and do what the moment requires, you'll come out alive. Pushing back hard only deepens the wound.
九五，需于酒食，贞吉。Waiting with wine and food. Steadfast and upright brings good fortune.
可以暂时放下焦虑了——九五阳爻居中，在坎水之上——水深但还没淹到你，反而能浮起来。好好吃饭、好好生活、保持平稳心态。在等待中享受当下，反而是最有效的策略。
You can set the anxiety down. The fifth line, yang, is centered, riding atop Kǎn's Water — the water is deep but hasn't drowned you; instead you can float. Eat well, live well, hold your composure. To enjoy the present while you wait is, in this case, the most effective strategy.
上六，入于穴，有不速之客三人来；敬之，终吉。Falling into the pit. Three uninvited guests arrive. Treat them with respect. In the end, good fortune.
意外出现的“不速之客”——可能是计划外的人、机会、问题——上六在坎卦之极，阴爻柔弱——看似被困，其实转机往往以意外的方式出现。以礼待之、敬而处之，反而会带来好结果。不要抗拒变化，开放接纳。
Unexpected "guests" appear — unplanned people, opportunities, or problems showing up at the door. The top line sits at the extreme of Kǎn, a soft yin line — seemingly trapped, yet the turning point often arrives in just such an unexpected form. Receive them with grace and respect, and they actually turn into something good. Don't resist the change; stay open.
