卦辞The Judgement
井：改邑不改井，无丧无得，往来井井。汔至亦未井，羸其瓶，凶。Jǐng. The town may be moved, the well cannot. Neither losing nor gaining, the comers and goers draw from it. Almost up, but not yet out of the well, the bucket is broken. Misfortune.
你拥有像井一样深厚的资源、才华、能量——取之不尽。巽木在下属木居东南，坎水在上属水居北方——木上有水，井的象：木是井壁，水是井水，井水从井壁渗出来。水生木，井水滋养了井壁的木头，木头又护着井水——互为依靠，源源不断。问题不是有没有，而是会不会用。城邑可以变迁，井不会变——核心价值要保持稳定。
You possess resources, talent, energy as deep as a well — inexhaustible. The lower trigram Xùn is Wood, element Wood, in the southeast; the upper trigram Kǎn is Water, element Water, in the north — water above wood, the image of the well: wood is the well-wall, water the well-water, the water seeping out through the wall. Water generates Wood: the well-water nourishes the wooden wall, and the wall guards the water — mutually sustaining, never running out. The question isn't whether you have it, but whether you'll use it. The town can move; the well does not — your core value should stay steady.
大象The Image
《象》曰：木上有水，井；君子以劳民劝相。Water stands above the wood: the image of the Well. The noble one, accordingly, encourages the people in their labor and urges them to help one another.
六爻The Six Lines
初六，井泥不食，旧井无禽。The well is muddy and undrinkable. An old well that even the birds ignore.
井底是泥（井废了），不能喝——巽木初爻，树根扎在泥里——废弃的资源、断绝的连接，没人会理，也没有禽鸟来。废弃的资源、断绝的连接，没人会理。
The bottom of the well is mud (the well is ruined), undrinkable — Xùn's Wood, its roots set in mud — a discarded resource, a severed link, that no one will heed — and no birds come either. A wasted resource, a severed connection, that no one will bother with.
九二，井谷射鲋，瓮敝漏。The well's pit shoots only at minnows. The jar is cracked and leaks.
井水只能用来射小鱼，瓮还破了——巽木居中，木气正盛但被浪费——好东西没人用、还在漏，好东西没人用、还在漏。能力闲置太可惜，要找到出口。
The well water is good only for shooting minnows, and the jar leaks too — Xùn's Wood centered, the wood-energy at its peak but wasted — a good thing no one uses, and leaking away — a fine thing with no one to use it, and draining away. To leave capacity idle is a waste; find it an outlet.
九三，井渫不食，为我心恻；可用汲，王明并受其福。The well is cleaned out, yet not drunk from. This grieves my heart. It could be drawn upon. If the king were enlightened, all would share the blessing.
井已经清理干净却没人来用——巽木到三爻，木已长成——心痛，如果当权者明智，大家都能受益，心痛。如果当权者明智，大家都能受益——不被发现的人才最委屈。
The well is cleaned out but no one comes to use it — Xùn's Wood at the third line, the tree fully grown — heartache; if those in power were wise, all could benefit — heartache. If those in power were wise, everyone could benefit. The undiscovered talent suffers the most.
六四，井甃，无咎。The well is being lined with tile. No fault.
井壁修整好了——坎水初爻，水刚入井——修缮自己、保养能力，本身就是吉，没问题。修缮自己、保养能力，本身就是吉。
The well-wall is being repaired — Kǎn's Water, first line, the water just entering the well — mending yourself, maintaining your capacity, is itself auspicious — no problem. Mending yourself, maintaining your capacity, is itself auspicious.
九五，井洌，寒泉食。The well is clear; the cold spring is drunk.
井水清冽寒泉——坎水居中，水质最清——可以喝了，能用、能造福人，可以喝了。能用、能造福人——这是好的状态。
The well water runs clear and cold — Kǎn's Water centered, the water at its purest — fit to drink, usable, able to benefit others — fit to drink. Usable, and able to benefit others — this is the good state.
上六，井收，勿幕；有孚，元吉。The well's work is done; do not cover it. With sincerity, sublime good fortune.
井收获丰盛，盖子打开（不必盖住）——坎水到极处，水满井口——大家都能享用，真诚地分享，元吉，大家都能享用。真诚地分享，元吉。
The well's yield is rich and the cover is left off (no need to seal it) — Kǎn's Water at its extreme, the water brimming at the well-mouth — all may partake; share sincerely, sublime good fortune — all may drink. Share sincerely: sublime good fortune.
