About Sixty-Four
Sixty-Four
Three millennia of I Ching wisdom, illuminating the moment at hand.
The I Ching, or Book of Changes, was formed during China's Zhou dynasty, roughly three millennia ago. Many take it for a book of fortune-telling; it is closer to a symbolic system for describing situations and change, helping you see the circumstances you are actually in. Tradition ascribes the eight trigrams to the sage Fu Xi; the sixty-four hexagrams and their judgments to King Wen and the Duke of Zhou; and the "Ten Wings," the core commentaries, to Confucius and his followers. Composed of just two types of lines—broken and unbroken—stacked in six places, the hexagrams create a symbolic system for mapping situations and their transformations. It is one of history's oldest binary systems.
The Zhou Yi — the hexagrams and their judgments — takes shape in China's Western Zhou, the book's oldest core.
Leibniz saw binary arithmetic in its lines and wrote Explication de l'Arithmétique Binaire — quietly echoing the logic of modern computing.
Carl Jung saw synchronicity in it — a meaningful coincidence, a dialogue with one's own unconscious.
Sixty-Four is an online I Ching oracle, an independent studio. It was born of a deep appreciation for the sixty-four hexagrams and a wish to share their guidance with those who need it.
It follows the Yili tradition, which focuses on meaning and principle rather than prediction. Each reading pairs the original I Ching text with an AI interpretation, offering guidance for the situation at hand. As a different lens, it also draws on the symbolism of trigram directions and the Five Elements.
The hexagram shows the broader current; where you go from here is up to you.

关于 Sixty-Four
Sixty-Four
